Dr Ian Borthwick, a marine biologist and oceanographer by training, has been involved with the environment for over twenty years, providing support to industry, government and non-government organisations. He has broad ranging experience in the oil and gas industry, both upstream and downstream, having held senior posts with BP International, Sun Oil and the Canadian Federal Government, prior to founding Borthwick & Associates in 1992. His work experience encompasses more than thirty countries, spanning five continents, from the desert to the Arctic, from tropical rain forest to deep ocean. Dr Borthwick has wide international experience in emergency response and oil spill contingency planning, crisis management, and has been involved with simulation exercises and training for more than 20 international oil companies. He has attended several major oil spills Exxon Valdez Alaska, American Trader California, Sea Empress UK and Pontoon 301 in the UAE, and has provided expert testimony in numerous oil spill arbitration cases.
 
Dr Borthwick specialises in Environmental and HSE management procedures, emergency response, risk, sensitivity and impact assessment, audit and review, particularly of systems and operations. He has provided assistance to major international companies during new country entry and in the development of HSE management systems – VICO Indonesia (BP/LASMO), Salamander Energy (Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Lao), Singapore Petroleum Company, OMV (Yemen, Libya and Romania), and with LASMO, Wintershall BG and the National Oil Corporation (NOC) in Libya. He has extensive experience in Environmental Impact Assessments, baseline surveys and auditing, having conducted several EIAs and major audits in recent years in the Far East (Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Lao), the Middle East (UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia) and in Libya.

Dr Lin Baldock is a biologist with a background in marine and aquatic biology. She has extensive experience in biological survey techniques and in the preparation of baseline and environmental impact assessment reports. Over the last twelve years she has been involved in environmental consultancy, both as a freelance specialist and with Wimpey Environmental Ltd. Prior to this she was involved in research programmes with the University of Queensland, Australia; University of Southampton, UK; University of Toronto, Canada; and at Cambridge University, UK. Lin has considerable international experience, having led surveys in the Far East, Middle East, Australasia, North America and Europe. She is a chartered biologist, a member of the Institute of Biology and is a fully qualified commercial diver.
 
Toby Adamson is an oceanographer with a background in marine and aquatic sciences and biology. He has extensive experience in oceanographic survey techniques and in managing and carrying out oceanographic and environmental surveys and projects worldwide. Regions worked include Europe, Middle East, USA, Latin America, South East Asia, Caspian Sea, West Africa. Over the last eight years he has been involved in environmental consultancy, both as a freelance specialist and with Fugro Geos Ltd. Prior to this he was involved in research programmes with the University of Liverpool in the Red Sea and Gulf of Suez. He is a qualified marine surveyor and holds current offshore survival certification.
 
Colin Munro is a marine biologist and professional diver with more than 27 years experience in marine survey work, both shallow diving surveys and oceanic surveying from vessels. He is experienced in all aspects of marine biological and oceanographic survey and monitoring techniques, underwater photography, cinematography and video. Colin has particular interest in the autecology of gorgonians and subittoral temperate reef ecology.  He has extensive experience in UK and European waters and has worked internationally in the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean.
 
Claire Dalgleish is a marine ecologist with 13 years survey, benthic taxonomy (lab and in-situ) and interpretive reporting experience. This includes projects based in the UK and abroad, in both coastal and offshore waters. Industries include Oil & Gas, Marine Aggregates, Wet Renewables, Heritage and Nature Conservation Agencies, Local Authorities, Defence, Government, Marine Aquaculture, Ports and Harbours, and Fisheries.
 
Mrs Juliette Thornton is a specialist in Taxonomic Analysis with a broad background in marine biology and oceanography. She has extensive international experience, having completed analyses of flora and fauna in the Middle East, Far East and UK Continental Shelf.
 
Mr Trevor Symes is a civil engineer with 26 years professional engineering experience. The majority of his experience is related to muli-discipline development projects in the oil and mining industries. Trevor has extensive experience in site civil engineering and the development and management of site restoration and rehabilitation programmes, particularly in tropical regions. He holds a BSc degree in civil engineering and an MBA in engineering construction and project management.
 
Dr Clive Morgan is a biologist with extensive experience developing, implementing and assessing environmental management systems, initial review and auditing, ecological survey, and impact assessment particularly in relation to oil, gas and marine developments, landfill and waste management, electronics and paper making industries and financial institutions. He has developed and run programmes on environmental policy development and implementation, including auditing, impact assessment, contingency planning, sensitivity mapping and management systems. Dr Morgan has extensive project management and review experience.

John Martin is a fully qualified accident and emergency paramedic and has completed advanced paramedic training specialising in offshore Oil & Gas emergency medical treatment of workers and diving operations. He has worked as corporate HSE Advisor for several international companies in more than 15 countries. He has been involved in regular auditing and training of Company safety programs. Occupational Health represents another area of responsibility, working closely with the Medical Officers and Occupational Health Nurses, in respect to health, safety and environmental impacts on people. Also responsible for training fire & rescue personnel to (EMT) Emergency Medical technician in paramedical procedures and basic and advanced life support.
 
Graham McCredie is a safety management specialist with seventeen years experience in the oil and gas industry, thirteen of which have been dedicated specifically to the implementation of safety systems at the operational level. He has provided safety and loss control services to numerous exploration and production companies in Canada and the US, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand and Russia. His extensive specialist training includes loss control management, contractor safety, occupational health and safety auditing, boiler and pressure vessels, well service and blow-out, confined space entry, H2S, firefighting, emergency response planning, work permit systems and accident/incident reporting and investigation. Member - Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors, Canadian Society of Safety Engineering and the International Loss Control Institute.
 
Gerry Taggart is a chartered engineer with a masters degree in safety management systems. He is a registered safety practitioner and environmental auditor. Following a career as an officer in the Royal Engineers, Mr Taggart spent 15 years with BP as a safety specialist, developing and implementing HSE management systems, developing procedures and manuals and in training. He is a specialist in transportation issues and accident/incident investigation. Mr Taggart is a Fellow of the Institute of Petroleum, the Institution of Plant Engineers and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
 
Ray King, a chemist, is a member of the Institute of Petroleum and a member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. In a career spanning twenty-two years with BP, Mr King's experience was primarily in the downstream sector in refineries in Aden, Nigeria, Zambia and the UK. He was President of a BP subsidiary in the USA for three years, and was instrumental in the implementation of HSE systems in the exploration and production business. Since retiring from BP in 1990, he has been continuously involved in HSE consultancy to over thirty clients worldwide, including risk assessments, HAZOP studies, audits, management and technical standards and training programmes.
 
Ged Pyett is an experienced HSE professional having spent the last 34 years in HSE appointments throughout the world in the upstream oil industry, both as an employee of BP Exploration and an independent consultant. During his career with BP, which spanned 25 years, he held a broad range of HSE responsibilities world-wide, culminating as HSE manager for BP Exploration Frontier and International. Mr Pyett was responsible for all HSE aspects of BP’s drilling and production business and the development of HSE management systems and novel techniques for hazard and risk assessment. He has acted as Advisor to the BP Group on HSE management issues, and provided an interface with numerous statutory organisations.
